The News is Out 📰

I’ve been a little MIA over here lately and now you know why. We’re expecting a little one to join our family in January 2025. 🪩 As many of you may know, first trimester is not often a breeze; I was exhausted and experienced morning sickness all day, every day. I still feel it lingering as I’ve entered into week 16, but it’s definitely better than it was. A couple months back I was driving in the car and praying about getting pregnant as we had been trying for about 8 months. As I was praying, the song that was playing quietly in the background was brought to my attention,

“Miracle after miracle
Open door after open door
Here it comes
So get ready for another one
‘Cause another one is on the way”

Up until that point, I hadn’t heard the song before, but it spoke directly as an answer to my prayer. I knew that didn’t necessarily mean I was going to get pregnant right away, but that I could trust that our little miracle was indeed a part of his plan for us for the future. I told a few people about it and sure enough by the next month we found out I was pregnant. So thankful for God’s assurance in that moment. It wasn’t something he had to do, but it is something He chose to do and my heart was so grateful and hopeful as we anticipated what was to come!

On another note, Jake and I have also been praying a lot about a house and that God would make a way if making Phoenix home was something he desired for us. It didn’t seem like it was going to be possible for us in this season, but God pulled together resources for it and we were able to buy our first home right in the location we were hoping for, a location that months back I had also felt God promise to my heart. We just moved in and are praising God for that answered prayer as well! 🙌🏼

A couple months ago all within the same week, my grandmother unexpectedly passed away, Shindig Social relaunched on the west coast, we put an offer in on a house, found out we were pregnant and Josie turned 5. Every change that happened that week was a more permanent change that directed our future. It was full of loss and gain and change all wrapped up into what would become a new season. We are looking forward to a hopeful future and praising God for all that is to come.

So there you have it, a little mini update on all that has been happening the last few months. Now, let’s get back to our regularly scheduled programming. 😉 👏🏼
